Nihon Goshin Aikido is categorized under the umbrella of grappling arts and derives from the martial art of Daito-Ryu Aiki Jiu-Jitsu. Aikido is performed by blending with the motion of the attacker and redirecting the force of the attack rather than opposing it head-on. The Aikido practitioner leads and re-directs the attacker’s momentum using entering and turning movements. The techniques are completed with various throws, joint-locks, pins and submissions.
*Wyndham Academy of Self-defense teaches Nihon Goshin Aikido. Our art is devoted to martial arts techniques for self-defense, derived from the best techniques from Aikido, Jujitsu, Judo and Karate.*
